The new fish lasted about a day. So before Gavin noticed I ran to Petsmart and bought “new friends ” for Gavin’s fish… pics to follow as soon as I can figure out how to upload them on my Android phone or when my camera is charged.

Gavin picked a couple of Tiger fish to replace his beta that has passed. Just an FYI, even though Tiger Fish are little, they should still be flushed or buried in a garden and not put in a garbage disposal…  Just in case you were wondering. Excuse me while I go “dispose” a lemon now.

Pops was flushed to rest while Gavin was still sleeping. What have you done? Were you afraid that it might traumatize them or did you use it as a “life happens” moment? Or did you just buy a replacement?

We made a family trip to a retail store last weekend to get Gavin ready for school. Not clothes, just a back pack and a lunch box/bag and a sleeping mat. I was feeling pretty good that we got him ready to go to school and that we were ahead of the game.

Then I got his school supplies list….

• 1 box of tissues <reasonable>
• 1 package of #2 pencils (not themed)
• 1 PUMP bottle of hand sanitizer
• 1 PUMP bottle of hand soap (non foaming)
• 4 1st class stamps
• 3 LARGE SIZE glue sticks
• Clorox wipes
• 1 package of brown lunch bags
• Some teachers may require 1 box gallon AND qt. sized zipperlock bags.

Are you serious? That’s not even the entire list. Basically every parent is donating $20 to the teacher for supplies that will be used in the class. So these are the budget cuts we hear so much about on TV. They filtered all the way down to the parents. I really wouldn’t mind all of this if, in the front of the school, there weren’t two reserved parking spots for the Principle and the assistant principle. With a Chromed out Mercedes S class in one and a BMW X5 in the other!

I have read stories all over the country where kids are asked to bring in 4 rolls of paper towels and 4 rolls of TOILET PAPER!

Lan Enterprises Recalls Zooper Tango Double Strollers Due to Collapse Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Double stroller

Units: About 3,700

Distributor: Lan Enterprises LLC of Hillsboro, Ore., and formerly of Beaverton, Ore.

Hazard: The stroller’s frame latch above the front wheels can fail when the stroller hits an object, causing the stroller to unexpectedly collapse. This can result in minor scrapes, cuts and bruises.

Incidents/Injuries: The company has received 185 reports of frame latch failures. In one incident a 13-month-old boy and a 3-year-old boy received scrapes and bruises when their stroller hit a sidewalk and the stroller collapsed.

Description: This recall involves 2007 and 2008 Zooper Tango double strollers with a model number of SL808B and SL808F. The model numbers were printed on the original packaging. The strollers have production dates ranging from January 1, 2007, through April 30, 2008. The production dates are printed on the warning labels attached to the seats. The word “Zooper” is printed on the stroller canopies and grab bars. The Web address www.zooper.com is printed on the basket under the stroller seats.

Sold at: Juvenile product and mass merchandise retailers nationwide and at www.babiesrus.com from January 2007 through August 2008 for between $400 and $430.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled strollers and contact Zooper USA to receive a free repair kit.
